Many people have asked, “How can we help?” There are many ways in which the community can be a part of this exciting time. We are looking for a few more members to round our our team of highly motivated, passionate and community minded individuals. Volunteers need not be Old Mission Peninsula residents, as our mission is to provide education on Old Mission Peninsula, not only for the residents, but for our entire Traverse City population. Please take a look at the different ways you can volunteer your time.
Board members: Meet weekly to discuss and follow through on ideas, concepts and the intricacies of purchasing a building while at the same time engaging the public in a positive way. We are looking to round out our group with parents, community members, business people and others who believe in philanthropy and the support of quality educational opportunities in our unique environment.
Grant writers: As we begin to form a school, there are start up costs that need to be funded and grants that will cover them. People who have experience or even the willingness to take the time necessary to obtain this additional funding are encouraged to reach out.
Marketing gurus: We have a cause, now we need to get the word out to the public. A person who is able to maneuver through media outlets and help keep our message clear and visible, is necessary.
Fundraising giants: We have been hearing all along that the community wants to support our endeavor financially. Experience in this field would be appreciated and the ability to form relationships and make the calls.
Web and Facebook aficionado’s: Through the generosity of Old Mission Associates, we have a web designer! We are looking for someone to help us continue our presence in a way that embodies our focus and mission. A talent in marketing, web design or general gift of the pen would help us carry our message to the public.
All interested parties are encouraged to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with their interest along with any background information deemed relevant. These positions are volunteer positions and we are keenly aware of the value of anyone able to share their time. OMPEF is a charitable, nonprofit organization and we will consistently work towards being financially responsible to our donors and the focus on educational opportunities.
