Sarah grew up in Whitehall, Michigan, the fourth of eight kids. She attended MSU after high school and later St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. In 1998 she moved to TC and fell in love with a local cherry farmer.
She worked as a critical care nurse (primarily in the Open-Heart Unit at Munson) for nearly 15 years before making the decision to stay home full time with her three kiddos: Sam, 13yrs old (7th grade at EMS), Meredith 11yrs old (6th grade at EMS), and Olivia, 8yrs old (2nd grade at OMPS).
Sarah and her cherry farmer husband John, bought their first home together in downtown TC, but as an Old Mission alum, John suggested taking a look at his old school when the children were old enough. OMPS was indeed a great fit for their kids and has felt like a second home to them since Sam started kindergarten in 2010.
